Sexual Enhancement Diet
Not so many years ago, the medical professional barely paid any attention to diet. Now, it is widely accepted that there is often a direct connection between what you eat and your health. In recent years, many scientific studies have been carried out to demonstrate the effect that certain nutrients have on our bodies. For example:
• A study published in a 1995 issue of Annals of Internal Medicine at Boston University Medical Center found that vitamins C and D can help to stop the progression of osteoarthritis. • A 1992 study at the University of California at Los Angeles involving 11,000 Americans concluded that people who eat foods that are high in vitamin C have a lower rate of premature death from heart disease; this effect was found more often in men than in women. • Two 1993 studies at the Harvard School of Public Health and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston showed that among their 120,000 test subjects, vitamin E greatly reduced the risk of developing heart disease. • The Lancet a British medical journal, published a 1992 study at Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada indicating that people over sixty-five had stronger immunity and fewer infections when they took the recommended daily allowances of vitamins and minerals. While each person's nutritional needs differ, there are some basic principles for good eating. They include a diet that is high in fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, and whole grains; and low in saturated fat, refined sugar, and processed foods. Many men with high cholesterol levels are also suffering from clogged arteries and may require medication. The same blocked arteries that result in poor blood flow to the heart and possible heart attacks, and poor blood flow to the brain and strokes can also result in poor blood flow to the penis and problems with erections. Specifically, what are some of the "good" and "bad" foods to consider? The good ones are those that are lower in fat and higher in vitamins and minerals; the bad ones are those that are high in fat and low in vitamins and minerals. Here are some examples:
The typical American consumes about 3,400 calories a day, including 100 grams of protein, 160 grams 0 fat, 390 grams of carbohydrates and 490 milligrams of cholesterol. A healthier diet would be about 2,000 calories a day, including 50 grams of protein, 65 grams of fat, 300 grams of carbohydrates, and 300 milligrams of cholesterol. There are many people who believe that even the best diet does not give us all the nutrients that we need, and they supplement it with a multivitamin pill each day. If you decide to do this, it is not necessary to spend a lot of money on your, supplements. Most of the brand name multivitamins in your local pharmacy will do the job. To be certain, check with your doctor about taking vitamins and about any changes you think you should make in your daily diet. By eating fresh, low-fat foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals, you will experience a definite improvement in your overall health and in the health of your arteries. A final note : Do not allow yourself to become overweight. Many diseases, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and certain forms of cancer are connected to obesity. As we have seen, these disorders are also implicated in erectile dysfunction. If you want to be vigorous and maintain good erectile function, stay trim. |
